Human Physiology
人体生理学
Robert Youker
The major goal of Human Physiology is for the student to demonstrate an understanding of the functional nature of all the major organ systems: nervous, endocrine, muscular, cardiovascular, respiratory, immune, excretory, gastrointestinal, and reproductive. This will also include basic knowledge of biological macromolecules, cell structure and function, enzymekinetics, cellular respiration and energy producing pathways. Analytical and critical thinking skills will be emphasized rather than just memorizing facts.
Cognitive Psychology

Daniel Montoya
Every human adult shares a sense that the ability to think, to reason, is a part of his or her fundamental identity. Even loss of language does not take away a person’s essential humanness. Unlike language ability, unique to our species, the rudimentary ability to think and reason is apparent in non-human primates. The premise of this class is that thinking, not language, lies closest to the core of our individual identity. With that premise in mind, we will discuss the nature of human concepts and reasoning. The perspective taken is interdisciplinary and includes physiology, anatomy, philosophy, linguistics, computer science, etc., with cognitive psychology as the core discipline.
